At Rushbrook, we recognise that being bilingual is an advantage and that multilingualism and linguistic diversity enrich the ethos of the school. Language acquisition and development is a continuous process, which is assisted by all staff. We closely monitor the stages of English Language Acquisition to inform how best to support the development of children’s language skills at all levels.
59% (60% 2021/2022) of children in school have English as an Additional Language. Teachers have assessed children’s English Language Acquisition from Fluent, Competent, Developing Competence, Early Acquisition and New to English.
